TiVo will be on Harvey Norman shelves next week, 1st July, thanks to the Seven network who has negotiated an out right fee for the box (originally Tivo wanted a monthly subscription) which is great news for us!
The price is believed to approximately $700 which is not bad considering it is expected to sport dual HD tuners, 250GB HDD space (20 hours of HD content), HDMI connection, ethernet (yes, that means copying content to and from PC) and eSATA.
So expect to see automated recordings, 100+ internet channels, upgradeable firmware and more.
Official Australian site.

EzyDVD is set to release its latest offer; movie downloads, via ezydownloads. There isn’t a lot of information as yet other than the service is based on the reeltime service.
The company is also seeking ISPs to not include it in their download caps, as Telstra does with its Bigpond Movies. You can subscribe via the site for further updates.

If you hadn’t already heard, Mozilla has released the final version of its web browser Firefox, 3.0! Though most of us have been running the betas and RCs for some time its good to see it official. It comes just in time to take Opera 9.5 and the social browser Flock 2 beta (now based on Firefox 3).
Internet Explorer better bring something new to the table with version 8 if it plans to keep its place on top.
Note: Download Firefox 3.0 and help set a world record for the most downloaded program, in one day!
Update: Over 7.5 million copies were downloaded within the 24 hr period. This didn’t include updates or ftp traffic. Also get your very own official download certificate HERE.

Back in 2004 Codeminion released a vertical space shooter titled, Pteroglider. It was their first game published on the net and it was a commercial failure. But keep reading, as you will see it was more due to its unique take on an old genre than any thing else.
The key problems were the use of DX9 drivers (when not every one had them), ‘innovative mouse targeting’ controls, the unbalanced difficulty of levels and lack of tutorial.
Which the creators also point out in their blog, which is a good read if you would like to read more on why the game was not the success they had imagined.
So before I bore you anymore, download the massive 11.2mb full version game and start blasting away!

Yes you read correct. Trading Post have positioned them selves to directely compete with Ebay.com.au with the unveiling of their latest feature; auctions. There are not thousands of items to bid on, with most still in the traditional buy it now format.
I think they will be worth watching though, as the market starts to look for alternatives after the Ebay-Paypal changes in recent months… Did I mention they are free to list with!? Win win.

Most Ebayers know that misspelled items tend to sell for less… in some cases far less. As no one knows how to find them or be bothered trying alternative spellings and with or without “-” etc… Well there is helpful site called AuctionBloopers that can help you out. It searches all the known misspelled variations of any known word on Ebay (including ebay.com.au).

It looks like Ask.com is trying compete with the bigger players by providing a more specialised search. This will be made possible by integrating its latest acquisitions; Thesaurus.com, Reference.com and Dictionary.com.
As it stands, Ask.com makes up only 5% of the market share according to Comscore with only 22 million hits a month placing it in 5th spot.

Firefox 3 is one step closer to release after Mozilla distributed the first release candidate of its latest browser. It was made available to around 1.2million testers with no date yet on public release.
On Mozilla’s developer blog they comment on this being the final release if no bugs are found and if so more RCs to follow. Here is hoping it is clean!
If you can’t wait then download RC1 here.
[Update] You can now download the RC via the software update in Firefox.
